The article came out last Sunday. I thank the author for writing it and I hope it serves to inspire interest in Bazarrabusa’s story and in Ugandan history in general. However I was rather disappointed that the author failed to include any mention of my project, and more specifically refused to include a link to my site — especially given the fact that the timeline (and some phrasing) was lifted directly from my blog and that I provided all the factual information regarding Bazarrabusa’s background and family and the 1961 Legislative Council elections. But in the end, I suppose one mustn’t expect too much from a newspaper article; the historian’s role is to provide a rather more substantial and well-founded view of events than the journalist’s schedule and constraints might allow.
